Regenerative Medicine in Bryn Mawr, PA
At the Center for Regenerative Medicine and Pain Management, we provide regenerative medicine to promote your body’s natural healing abilities. Regenerative surgery is minimally invasive, making use of your body cells.
We aim to help you recover faster, improve mobility, and reduce pain, without relying on long-term medications or invasive surgery.
What Is Regenerative Medicine?
Regenerative medicine is an innovative and modern treatment doctors use to replace tissues damaged by injury or disease. The therapy focuses on repairing and restoring damaged tissues using your body’s cells and growth factors.
At our practice in Bryn Mawr, we offer three major types of regenerative medicine: Bone Marrow Concentrate, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy, and Platelet Lysate Therapy.
Bone Marrow Concentrate Therapy
Bone marrow concentrate (BMC) therapy uses nucleated cells (cells with DNA) derived from a patient's own bone marrow to regenerate and heal damaged cells and tissues. This treatment promotes your body's healing process by using the cells responsible for healing within your own body. These cells include Mesenchymal Stem Cells, Macrophages, Eiosinophils, Hematopoetic Stem Cells, Neutrophils, Monocytes and others that work together in an orchestrated way to promote healing.
Our board-certified physician and orthobiologist specialist, Dr. Bashir harvests these cells from your bone marrow, to create Bone Marrow Concentrate which can then be carefully injected into injured areas to encourage tissue regeneration and healing.
Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy
Platelet Rich Plasma therapy, or PRP, is a treatment that uses a patient's blood to promote healing and tissue regeneration. It involves drawing a small amount of blood, separating the platelets and other healing components, and injecting this concentrated plasma into an injured area.
PRP therapy stimulates the body's natural healing response, making it an effective regenerative treatment for various conditions, including sports injuries, osteoarthritis, and more.
Platelet Lysate Therapy
Platelet Lysate therapy, like PRP, uses platelets from your blood, but instead of injecting them whole, our expert orthobiologist breaks them open to release their growth factors instantly. The resulting solution which is the platelet lysate is injected into the target area for a gentler, faster-acting healing response. This orthobiological preparation technique is often ideal for sensitive tissues or nerve-related injuries.
Adipose Derived Nucleated Cell Therapy
Adipose Derived Cell (ADC) therapy involves performing a fat aspiration on a patient and then seperating out the Nucleated Cells embeddded within the fat. Although we favor the use of BMC for most conditions, at times we will isolate out these cells and use them as a Scaffold allowing for a framework for BMC and PRP to be placed in.
Shockwave therapy
Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses sound waves to stimulate circulation, reduce pain, and accelerate healing. We offer both radial and deep shockwave therapy for tissue-specific conditions such as tendon injuries, joint pain, and muscle tightness. As an adjunct to regenerative procedures like PRP or cell-based therapies, shockwave therapy enhances tissue repair by improving blood flow and creating a more receptive healing environment—helping patients achieve faster recovery and better long-term outcomes
Benefits of Regenerative Treatments
The benefits of regenerative treatments include:
-
Promotes long-lasting tissue repair
-
Reduces inflammation naturally
-
Minimally invasive with a quicker recovery period.
-
Low risk of adverse reactions, since the treatments use your own cells and platelets
